Yes you heard it right—Pastor Curtis went green!  No he wasn’t making an environmental statement. You may recall he challenged the congregation months ago to fill up the church Easter Sunday. If attendance reached 200+ he would die his hair green! On Easter Sunday we had 196 people in attendance: just 4 short of the goal!  Several congregants expressed their disappointment at being so close.  Pastor Curtis recognizes over the past months the effort congregants have put into getting new people and inactive members to church. 

Being the good sport that he is and wanting to cheer the congregation on and encourage them to continue working for the kingdom and inviting people to church, Pastor Curtis came to church the following Sunday with green hair.  He didn’t wear a wig but sprayed his hair green.  The congregation roared with laughter and approval as he entered the sanctuary to greet people.  He’s not sure very many people listened to his sermon as they appeared transfixed on his hair.  Several congregants had cameras ready (somebody must have tipped them off) and several of the youth took pictures with their cell phone cameras.  No doubt his face made the rounds at  school and the Internet.  You can rest assured there will be another challenge in the future.
